Meet Kelly de Haas

Kelly de Haas is running for Newington Town Council to bring responsible leadership and financial discipline back to town government. A lifelong Newington resident, Kelly has seen firsthand how our community has changed—and she’s ready to help get it back on track.

With over 30 years in Newington (and choosing to return to raise her family here), Kelly understands what matters to residents: safe neighborhoods, strong schools, and a town that spends wisely.

Professionally, Kelly works as a Senior Trust Administrator and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). In her role, she partners with attorneys and clients to implement retirement and estate plans—experience that gives her a deep understanding of fiscal responsibility, long-term planning, and putting people’s interests first.

Kelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Central Connecticut State University. She has previously served on the Newington Conservation Commission and is a current Trustee of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library Board, where she is also Chair of the Board’s Investment Committee.

As a candidate for Town Council, Kelly is focused on:

·         Promoting fiscal responsibility and transparency

·         Supporting law enforcement and first responders

·         Encouraging smart, sustainable growth for our community

·         Keeping local decision-making in the hands of Newington residents

When you vote for Kelly de Haas, you’re voting for someone who knows Newington, believes in its future, and has the experience to help lead it there.
